Pureberry has made a conscious choice to work in harmony with nature. Our agricultural practices are based on the principles of reducing the impact on the environment in our production practices while providing premium quality berries.

WATER MANAGEMENT AND PRESERVATION

Pureberry has made large investment in the state-of-the-art modern plantations as we grow blueberries in controlled environment in containers and substrate. Growing blueberries in containers is more efficient and sustainable, as the blueberry bush requires significantly less water in using this production technology.

Our investment in the computerised irrigation technologies allows us to minimise the water loss in the production through monitoring the weather conditions and timing the water applications.

From propagation to the blueberry production, each plant requires an extremely stable medium with excellent moisture levels and air content. The plant will be in the same growing medium for multiple years in a row, so there can’t be any compromises with regards to quality.

MODERN ANTIHAIL SYSTEMS

Investment in anti-hail systems ensures minimal production losses of Class 1 fruits considering the changing climate conditions.

DECREASE IN USE OF PACKAGING

Our investment in Top seal technology ensures that we decrease the use of plastic throughout our packing process. Thanks to the eco-design principles that go into its packaging, Pureberry saved tonnes of cardboard and plastic in 2021 working with our Scandinavian retail partner.
